Currently specified in numerous applications at OEMs and noise control systems providers throughout the aircraft industry, this thicker material provides general acoustic/thermal insulation as overframe blanketing, duct insulation, and carpet underlay. For interior aircraft use, the material is typically treated with a protective coating of PTFE on the fiber surface to provide moisture and chemical repellency. Other attributes of this material include inherent fire retardance, high temperature and chemical resistance, as well as an extremely good resistance to the development of mold.
